Argelia Aguilar Martinez, 74, retired paraprofessional for special education students, homemaker, cook, beloved wife, nurturing mother, loving grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, was received into our Savior's arms on June 7, 2024. Born on March 19, 1950, she touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.
Argelia was not just a homemaker, but the heart of her family, where her nurturing presence created a haven of love and comfort. Her culinary skills brought joy to countless gatherings, her dishes a testament to her passion for cooking, and her desire to nourish both body and soul.
Beyond her roles within the family, Argelia's love extended to her wider community. She was a friend to all who knew her, her genuine warmth and compassion leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Argelia found solace and joy in music, particularly in singing her favorite hymns. Her voice, filled with emotion and sincerity, lifted the spirits of those around her and brought a sense of peace to any gathering.
She also had a deep love for her dogs, Bella, Rusty, and Roxy, who were cherished members of her family. Their presence brought her immense joy and comfort throughout her life.
Above all, Argelia's faith in God was the cornerstone of her life. Her love for God was evident in her daily actions, as she lived out her beliefs with grace and humility. She found strength and solace in her relationship with God, and her unwavering faith was a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
Argelia Aguilar Martinez is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Rosendo Martinez Sr., and preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Josefina Aguilar. She is also survived by her sister Maricela Aguilar, 3 children Arturo A Vasquez Jr. (Leann), Rhonda L. Vasquez, and Kimberly Jasso (Mauro), Brenda L. Vasquez, 3 step-children Rosendo Jr., Sarah, and Nicole Martinez, 8 grandchildren Kaylan Vasquez (Jacob), Ruben Villalobos III (Denise), Rheanna, Raelyn, and Roslyn Villalobos, Kristen Morgan (Samuel), Marissa and Jenna Jasso, 3 step-grandchildren Vada, Anabelle, Presley Janak, and 5 great-grandchildren Jaylan and Blakely Moreno, Alaina Gonzales, Ezekiel Villalobos, Lynnleigh Morgan.
Argelia will be dearly missed. She was selfless and went above and beyond for anyone she loved. One day we will see you again.
We would like to extend a heartfelt sincere thank you to Harbor Hospice staff for the excellent care they provided to our mother and emotional support to all her family; also to our family and friends that were there for us and her during her last moments of her life.
There will be a visitation at Sawyer-George Funeral Home on Friday, June 14, 2024, with viewing from 11 am – 2 pm and service to follow at 2 pm with Pastor Raul Elizondo.
