Annamary (Blumer) Sykora, 76, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. She was born on February 28, 1937 in Pearland, Texas to her parents Roman and Vera Marguerite Blumer. She graduated from Alvin High School. Annamary was married to the late Henry John “Hank” Sykora on January 18, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas. They were married 56 years. In 1966, Annamary and her family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where she worked for the Calallen Independent School District for 33 years. Annamary was a current member of the First Baptist Church of Odem. Her and her husband ran the RA’s program for several years. She was a past member of Calallen Baptist Church. Annamary is preceded in death by her parents, brother Lawrence and her loving husband. Annamary is survived by her four sons: Bryan (Robin), Mike (Jerilynn), Gary (Gloria), and Glen (Maria), 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren who loved to call her “Granny” and her brother and sisters, Leigh Alfred Blumer, Frieda Shaddock, Florence Bergen, Marguerite Williams, Phyllis Honey and Doris Fontaine. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Granny will be greatly missed by her family, friends and her devoted pet companion, Jordon whom she loved to take walks with. Annamary and her family greatly appreciate the help and support from family, friends and especially Ms. Lillie Ruth Payne. Visitation will be on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Odem, Texas. Interment will follow at the Robstown Memorial Cemetery.
