Anna Johnson

Anna Marie Whitworth Johnson, age 82, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away October 4, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born June 22, 1932 in Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas to Wyatt and Dora Belle (Priour) Whitworth . She attended Catholic school in Corpus Christi, Texas graduating from Incarnate Word Academy in 1950. She married John Johnson from Crowley, Louisiana. on February 3, 1951 in the Corpus Christi Cathedral. She is a great granddaughter of Rosalie Hart Priour, early pioneer of Corpus Christi. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, an infant son, brothers, Wyatt Claude Whitworth and wife Mary, Wallace Earl Whitworth and wife Bernice, Julian John Whitworth, Carlton Camillas Whitworth, Bernard Garland Whitworth, William Edmund Whitworth and wife Doris. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy A. (Jason) Weischwill; sons, John C. (Debbie) Johnson, William T. (Lisa) Johnson, Michael W. (Valerie) Johnson, Durell J. (Lana) Johnson; grandchildren, Daniel (Teresa) Johnson, Nicholas (Jessica) Johnson, Richard Wishert, Michelle Wishert, Sarah Weischwill, Caroline Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Miranda Johnson, Amanda Johnson, Catherine Johnson; great grandchildren, Jace Johnson, Mikaila Chambers, Kennon Wishert; sister-in-law, LeJeune Whitworth; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Following visitation a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas. Interment will follow in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers at Wooldridge Place Nursing Center.
