Ann Staton, a beloved mother, grandmother, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, in Conroe, Texas, at the age of 91. Born on May 5, 1933, in Mexia, Texas, Ann’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering faith and love for family.
Educated at Robstown High School in Robstown, Texas, Ann carried the values she learned throughout her life. A devoted member of the Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church, her spirit resonated with the community, as she found solace and joy within its walls. Ann was not just a woman of faith; she was a nurturing force who devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family.
Her legacy continues through her cherished children, Sheri Staton of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jodi Maxwell (Carl Maxwell) of The Woodlands, Texas; grandchildren: Craig Ross (Briana Ross), D'ann Garcia (Evan Garcia), Kayla Boster (Connor Boster), Taylor Maxwell (Weston Hunt), and Bailey Maxwell. Ann also adored her several great-grandchildren, who brought boundless joy to her later years, along with numerous nieces and nephews who appreciated her warmth and wisdom.
Ann had a zest for life that was palpable; she reveled in gardening, found joy in reading, embraced the outdoors with a love for golf, sang with a heart full of grace, and gathered her family around her. The laughter and love she nurtured will echo in the lives of those she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jack and Ruby Keeble; her husband, Glen R. Staton, and her daughter, Candice J. Ross, as well as her son-in-law, Dennis Ross. Ann is also rejoined with her sister, Peggy Phillips; her brother, Kenny Keeble; her brother-in-law, Phil Phillips, and her cherished Uncle Alve (Slats) Allen and Aunt Pat Allen.
Services to honor Ann’s remarkable life will be held on April 1, 2025, at Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown at 1:00 PM. Ann Staton’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed, yet her legacy of kindness and devotion will inspire all who knew her.
