Almot Gregor

Almot J. (A.J., Greg, Buddy) Gregor passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was 92 years old. Almot was born October 31, 1921, to Albert A. and Frieda (Fiesler) Gregor in Brenham, Texas. He attended school there and helped on the family dairy farm until he enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1942. While in the service, he met and married Anna Wilmoth. After being discharged, they moved to Corpus Christi to seek their fortune. He immediately found a job with American Bottling Company (Coca Cola) as a Service Technician, where he worked for 40 years. He also started his own business repairing air conditioning window units at his home. After retiring, he spent time in his woodworking shop, was an active member in the Cal-Anna Lions Club and AARP. He was a member of the Corpus Christi Lodge No. 189, A.F & A.M. and the Al Amin Shrine Temple. Almot was preceded in death by wife, Anna; sisters, Olivia Goerlitz of Giddings, Mildred Helm of Houston, and brother, Milroy Gregor of New Ulm. Survivors are his son, Bruce Gregor; his daughter, Julie (Gregor) Fugitt and husband, Pat; his grandson, Joe Fugitt and wife Vicki, and great grandson, Asher. Other survivors are his sister, Edith Lehman and husband James; and his brother, Luther Gregor and wife, Ora Lee; and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks goes to Michelle Cantu and Veronica Guerrero, special friends and caregivers. Visitation will begin at 10 A.M. with a Memorial Service beginning at 11 A.M. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church between Robstown and Five Points on Highway 77, with Pastor Ron Bessert and Gus Gustafson officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 3316 Hummingbird Lane, Robstown, TX 78380-6122.
