James Andrew Carrell of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022 from natural causes. He was 69 years old.
He was preceded by his father, ID Carrell; mother, Sarah White Carrell; Brother, Tom Hall Carrell; brother, Asa Allen Carrell; sister, Sara Frances Childers.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Ann (Harrison) Carrell and brother, Ira Deleno Carrell, many nephews and nieces, Tom Edger Carrell (Holly), Derek Allen Carrell, Darren Allen Carrell (Michele), Damon Allen Carrell, Ted Earnest Childers, Tammy Carrell; brother -in- law, Lynn Childers; sister-in- law, Marilyn Carrell and many other numerous cousins.
James accepted the Lord Jesus Christ when he was nine years old. He has been a lifelong member of Travis Baptist Church. James graduated from Moody High School. He received Associate Degree in Mortuary Science. He worked as a Funeral Director for many years at Clifford Jackson Funeral Home & Memory Gardens. He was blessed with love and compassion for the community he served. He loved his men’s church group, bingo, TV, and card games.
Family has always been James’s top priority. He was always willing to help when needed.
We would like to thank Travis Baptist Church for the love and friendship they have always shown James and Liz. A special thank you to Norman Gonzalez, a great friend and co-worker at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. As well as Diane Humbach and Joann Garcia. Lastly, thank you to the many healthcare workers that have helped both James and Liz throughout this difficult time.
The graveside service will be held at 10:00AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
